2011 Game: Logomotion

Summary:

Logomotion is a game where teams try to form the FIRST logo on 2 sets of three racks on their sides of the field using logo-shaped inner tubes. Towards the end of the match, they may also deploy minibots onto two towers, also on their side of the field. There are two human players on the opposing alliance’s side of the field, and they are the ones who deal out inner tubes which are: red triangles, white circles, or blue squares. There is also one on the home alliance’s side, and their job is to attempt to communicate with the other human players which team needs what tube.

Robot Specs:

Before the match begins, a robot must fit in a rectangle that is 28” x 38” and is at most 60 inches tall. During the match, the robot must fit in a cylinder that is 42” in radius, or 84” in diameter. There is no height restriction on the robot during the match. The robot can weigh no more than 120 pounds, excluding the weight of the minibots, battery, and operator interface. The minibots must fit in a 12 inch cube, and can weigh no more than 15 pounds.

Scoring:

Placing a tube on a row is scaled by height. A tube on the first row is worth 1 point, the second, two points, and the third, three points. A team completing a row with the FIRST logo results in the row being worth twice the points. Placing an übertube on a rack in the first 15 seconds of a match doubles the value of the rack. In the last 10 seconds of the match, teams can deploy their minibots onto the towers to begin their race. The first minibots up gets 30 points, the second gets 20, the third gets 15, and the fourth gets 10.
