Students at Fairport High School started up the Fairport Robotics team, Blue Lightning, in 1997. Over the years, the team has worked very hard to win awards in the FIRST Robotics competitions.

From 1997 to 2006, Blue Lightning has built a number of different robots. Below are the robots we have pictures of:
As you can see, some pretty interesting robots have been built in the past. You may be wondering what KG stands for: Kate Gleason. Kate Gleason was the first women engineer to be inducted into the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the daughter of the founder of Gleason Works, our corporate sponsor.
